Construction crews have moved in on the B&M car park at the popular shopping complex for the upcoming garden centre extension, due to open in March 2025.
Pictures taken from Teesside Park this week show several shipping containers have been placed at the side of the former Toys R Us store, with a new metal fence being erected.
A digger was also spotted working on the surface of the car park, with a yellow skip pictured within the fenced off space.
Now, the chain has announced the exact opening date of the garden centre, which will welcome customers for the first time on Saturday, March 15.

B&M – which opened at Teesside Park in November 2023 – was initially due to add the garden centre in spring or summer 2024, as teased by signs on the front of the 34,686 sqft store.
However, this never came to fruition, with The Northern Echo revealing last November that it was scheduled to open in March – although no reason behind the delay was provided.
As previously reported, the unit and its car park stood empty for several years following the closure of Toys R Us back in 2018.

The store was fully revamped to make way for B&M, with a new glass front being added to match the Teesside Park style and the exterior given a fresh lick of paint.
The store currently sells a range of classic B&M stock items including furniture, bathroom items, toys and games, and food and drink.

The garden centre will add even more selection to the site, with other B&M sites offering gardening tools, fencing, compost and decking.
This is expected to be the first opening at the park in 2025, following in the footsteps of several brands last year including Primark, Nike, Rituals, White Stuff, Mango, and Ninja Warrior.
There are more to come later this year too – with a new Sports Direct set to open and its current home to be taken over by designer chain Flannels.
