Tucked away inside Reindeer Court, Elgar Coffee Shop & Restaurant in Worcester city centre serves up traditional Nepalese and Indian cuisine from the kitchen of its cafe.
It is off the beaten track of main city centre shopping routes, which has led many visitors to miss the cafe and the cute shopping court it is nestled in.

Mustafa Gocman, the previous owner of the beautiful 16th-century building, used to cook Turkish delicacies before handing it over to Raj Kunwar in July 2023.

However, the change in hands almost two years ago has not affected the cafe’s ratings, especially after Mr Kunwar introduced food from his home country in Nepal to the menu.
The cafe has a range of outdoor seating that is underneath a protected canopy. (Image: Newsquest) “I believe these guys are incapable of cooking a bad meal,” said one reviewer on Tripadvisor.
“No matter what we order, it’s excellent.
“The Nepalese food is especially good and is well worth exploring.

“Great flavours and all cooked to perfection with a choice of spice levels.”
Other reviewers loved that the cafe-turned-restaurant in Reindeer Court has an arcade-type setting and offers a secluded area to enjoy a coffee while in the bustling centre.

Another reviewer wrote that the “little gem is well worth the visit” if you are looking for a “beautiful Nepalese meal, friendly staff and a stunning old building”.
During the day the cafe still serves Turkish food, and Nepalese food in the evening.
