On Saturday, March 29 at 7.30pm, the New Hall at College Walk will echo with the sounds of Richard Strauss and Maurice Ravel, as interpreted by the skilled baton of Daniel Hogan.
The night’s repertoire includes Strauss’ lively Till Eulenspiegel’s Lustige Streiche and the Der Rosenkavalier Suite.
Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G and the poignant Piano Concerto for the Left Hand will also be performed.

Daniel Hogan has programmed two of the great composers of the early 20th century (Image: Winchester Symphony Orchestra) The latter piece was originally composed for Paul Wittgenstein, who lost his right hand during the First World War, and both works have since become staples in classical music.
Winchester favourite Thomas Kelly will return to tackle both of Ravel’s masterpieces.
The symphony orchestra expressed their delight at having Thomas back for this performance.
A spokesperson for the orchestra said: “Daniel Hogan has programmed two of the great composers of the early Twentieth Century at their finest.
“From playful and jazzy to heartfelt and dramatic, this will be an evening of music to entertain and inspire.”
Tickets for the concert are priced at £18, with concessions available at £16, and under 18s can enjoy the performance for £9.
An interval bar will also be available for concert-goers to enjoy.
