Win tickets to see The Dublin Legends in Warrington

The Dublin Legends, formerly known as The Dubliners, are set to perform at Parr Hall, Warrington, on March 19, promising an evening packed with Irish folk classics.

They comprise of Sean Cannon, Paul Watchorn, Gerry O’Connor, and Shay Kavanagh.

Sean Cannon, a former member of The Dubliners, has a wealth of stories from his decades-long career.

One highlight includes The Dubliners’ famous 1987 collaboration with The Pogues on a rendition of The Irish Rover, which peaked at number eight on the UK singles chart.

Following the death of founding member and lead singer Barney McKenna in 2012, the remaining members of The Dubliners chose to rebrand as The Dublin Legends.

This decision was made to honour their past while continuing to tour with beloved ballads and create new music.

For over a decade, The Dublin Legends have been on the road, delighting their international fanbase across numerous countries.

During their 2025 UK tour, they will be bringing with them a treasure trove of hits and beloved tunes, including Whiskey in the Jar, Dirty Old Town, The Wild Rover, Seven Drunken Nights, and other world-famous tracks.

Kavanagh, a stalwart of the Irish folk music scene, was a founding member of General Humbert with the acclaimed Mary Black and has played with The Dublin City Ramblers for many years.

Eamonn Campbell wished for the band to continue touring and to finish recording the album they had been working on.

This album is a follow-up to “The Dublin Sessions”, which included 16 newly recorded tracks, featuring a mix of old favourites and classics that the band wanted to preserve on disc.

The new album includes The Leaving of Liverpool, Schooldays Over, Pub with No Beer, Rambling Rover, Hand Me Down My Bible, and some fiery tunes from Gerry O’Connor: Billy in The Low Ground / The Temperance Reel, and of course, Seven Drunken Nights.

They have captivated audiences in Iceland, Norway, Finland, The Faroe Islands, Sweden, Holland, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, and across England, Scotland, and Wales.
