Wick community councillors have praised the small team of volunteers responsible for lighting up the town for Christmas.
The switch-on took place as part of Wick Fun Day on Saturday, November 30, and the lights attracted many positive comments throughout the festive season.
The Christmas tree towering over Market Square was also widely admired.
Fun Day featured 33 market stalls this year, drawing crowds throughout the morning and afternoon.
Wick Christmas Lights Committee, chaired by Claire Mackenzie, is a small subgroup of the Royal Burgh of Wick Community Council.
At the January meeting of the community council this week, chairman Allan Farquhar said: “The Christmas Fun Day was a great success. It was brilliant – one of the best markets north of Inverness, I would think.
“Claire and her team have got to be commended because they did a really good job. Well done to them.”
Vice-chairman Allan Bruce agreed, saying: “It’s great what they have achieved.”
Mr Farquhar added: “The tree was excellent.”
Treasurer Joanna Coghill said: “That’s the bonniest tree we’ve seen in a long time.”
There were also sleigh rides around the town by Santa and his helpers.
