The categories are writing, art, photography, environmentalism, and filmmaking.
The competitions are open to all schools, colleges, home-educated students, and youth organisations.
There are three age categories: junior (up to 10 years old), intermediate (11 to 13 years old), and senior (14 to 17 years old).
The entry deadline is February 14, 2025.
The competitions are free to enter, and winners will progress through local, district, and national levels, with certificates and prizes awarded at each stage.
To enter, visit the Rotary Club’s website to download entry forms and competition guidelines.
The competitions have the potential to be ‘life-changing’ for the young people who enter.
In 2024, Rebecca Eapen, a young writer from North London Collegiate School, discovered the West Fife competition through Google and requested to enter their local heat, despite being hundreds of miles away.
Her moving story “The Right Choice,” told from the perspective of a dog who loses its partner during an air raid, captured the theme of “Rebuilding” so powerfully that she won not only the local competition but went on to claim both district and national titles in the junior category.
Youth competitions organiser, Robert North from West Fife Rotary, said: “We’re looking for young people who want to express their creativity and share their unique perspectives.
“Rebecca’s success shows that talent knows no boundaries, and we’re excited to discover more inspiring young voices in 2025.”
