A weather warning for ice is in place this morning as the cold snap continues following last night’s snow and sleet.
The Met Office’s yellow alert for parts of the county is now in force until 10.30am, with people warned of potential travel disruption.

It comes after pictures showed flurries of snow settling in parts of Kent last night, though it came nowhere near the possible 10cm predicted.
North and west Kent are both fully covered by the warning which stretches as far out as Faversham and Folkestone, while avoiding areas such as Canterbury and Thanet.
Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services
There could be icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths and some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
Forecasters say Kent will be staying cold but with sunny spells and a gentle breeze.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Cold and frosty start with icy patches possible on untreated surfaces. Any overnight cloud clearing southeast through the morning, with a fine and largely sunny day following. Staying rather cold. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

“Snowy, wintry weather can cause delays and make driving conditions dangerous. Keep yourself and others safe by planning your route, giving yourself extra time for your journey.
“Check for road closures or delays to public transport and amend plans if necessary.
“If driving, make sure you have some essentials in your car in the event of any delays (e.g., warm clothing, food, water, a blanket, a torch, ice scraper/de-icer, a warning triangle, high visibility vest and an in-car phone charger).
“Be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area.”
Snow in Bolner Close, Chatham
It comes as Kent County Council warned on Tuesday an amber cold weather warning will stay in place until Sunday with low temperatures expected alongside further snow and ice warnings.
The local authority posted on X: “The amber alert has been extended to 12pm on January 12 across the south-east, including Kent. Please keep looking out for vulnerable family, friends and neighbours.”
Properties in the county also continue to be impacted by flooding, with some roads left impassable by the conditions.
One woman had to be rescued from her car on Monday evening after becoming stuck in Hartlake Road in Tudeley, Tonbridge.
Residents at Little Venice Country Park and Marina in Yalding and the surrounding areas have been advised to expect flooding, while parts of Ashford, Thanet and Tonbridge could also be impacted.
