Warrington named one of top wildlife conservation hotspots

The town secured fifth place in a list of the best locations for wildlife conservation in the country, according to research from Millets.

This ranking is based on several factors, including tree coverage, the diversity of wildlife species, and the frequency of wildlife rescues.

Warrington’s commitment to preserving its natural environment is reflected in its impressive wildlife conservation score of 8.91 out of 10.

This places the town just behind Watford, Sheffield, Oxford, and Bristol.

In addition to its overall ranking, Warrington also stands out for its bird species sightings.

The town boasts the eighth-highest number of bird species sightings within a 10km radius, with a total of 375 different species spotted.

This is only slightly behind major cities like Liverpool and London, which have 393 and 381 species sightings, respectively.

For nature enthusiasts, Warrington offers a unique opportunity to explore a variety of protected wildlife habitats, reinforcing its position as one of the country’s leading wildlife conservation hotspots.
