Walthamstow Singers raised £385 for Forest Churches Emergency Night Shelters via a Christmas concert at St Mary’s Church last week

New community choir Walthamstow Singers performed their winter concert “A Merry Little Christmas”, directed by Tristan Weymes, at St Mary’s Walthamstow on Thursday 12th December, and raised £385 for Forest Churches Emergency Night Shelters, who aim to offer anyone sleeping rough in the borough a place to go.
As well as a sizeable audience, Walthamstow Singers welcomed Corinna Creasy from Forest Churches Emergency Night Shelters.
Forest Churches Emergency Night Shelters believe that no one needs to sleep rough in Waltham Forest and everyone should have a place to go and Walthamstow Singers say they were “delighted” to be supporting them this year.
Hannah Brine, who founded Walthamstow Singers earlier this year, said: “This was Walthamstow Singers’ first concert and it was a resounding success, with the choir sounding as if they had been singing together for a lot longer than just seven weeks. We welcome anyone interested in trying out for choir to come along to the start of our spring term on January 21st.”
