Andrew Meaney and Jamie Amos secured gold in the men’s doubles
The Welsh Wallball Association, which is based in Nelson, has secured two gold medals at a recent open event in Toulouse, France.
The group finished the year on a high, with most who went doing very well according to player Michelle Hooper.
Wallball, also known as one-wall handball, is a sport that involves two people hitting a small rubber ball against a wall with their hands.
With several players making the semi-final and finals, it was Andrew Meaney and Jamie Amos who claimed gold in the men’s double to scenes of celebrations out in France.
Formed in 2022, the group has grown to support more than 60 members of all ages, and has welcomed some of the world’s best players to the “bucket list venue” in Nelson – which is the only outdoor three-wall wallball court in the UK.
