Vue Worcester announces films and theatre line-up for 2025

This year will see the return of many beloved characters in highly anticipated sequels, the release of new live-action adaptations, and the screening of much-loved classics.

Among the most eagerly awaited films are Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy and Captain America: Brave New World, which will hit the screens on Valentine’s Day (Friday, February 14).

Bridget Jones fans will see the British cultural icon navigate single life and motherhood, while Captain America finds himself at the centre of an international incident.

The action continues with Tom Cruise returning in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning on Sunday, May 25.

The eighth instalment in the series sees Ethan Hunt and his allies attempt to defeat Gabriel and destroy the Entity.

Also back on the big screen in 2025 are Jurassic Park: Rebirth and Fantastic Four: The First Steps, with Pedro Pascal taking on the role of Mr Fantastic.

Younger audiences can look forward to live-action adaptations of Minecraft on Friday, April 4 and How to Train Your Dragon on Friday, June 13.

Music lovers are not left out, with the highly anticipated biopic Michael set to screen later in the year, and the concluding part of Wicked: For Good arriving in November.

The cinema’s 2025 line-up also includes screenings of classics and live theatre productions.

Film fans can expect a selection of David Fincher’s greatest works, as well as the original Bridget Jones trilogy.

Theatre lovers can enjoy the best British theatre productions, including National Theatre Live’s The Importance of Being Earnest and Dr Strangelove, the Royal Opera’s Swan Lake, and David Tennant as Macbeth.

Akeem Marere, general manager at Vue, said: “Looking ahead to 2025, it’s clear that fans of the big screen are going to be spoilt for choice.

“From family favourites to high-octane sequels to musical moments and incredible live productions, there’s something for everyone.

“Expect familiar faces (and some new ones too) in what is looking to be an eclectic mix of content.”
