Vendors well rewarded for making winter trip to Quoybrae

Quoybrae, Aberdeen and Northern Marts sold 1449 sheep on Monday, January 6.

Old season store lambs (537) averaged £104.98 and sold to £150 for Beltex’s from Inkstack, Barrock.

Old season prime lambs (566) averaged 324p per kg and sold to 354.4p for 45kg Beltex Crosses from Oldfield, Thurso and sold to £175 gross for 68kg Texels from The Shiean, Hill of Forss.

Feeding ewes and rams (346) averaged £153.87 and sold to £320 for Texels from The Shiean, Hill of Forss.

“Despite the wintery weather conditions, vendors who made the trip to the ring were well rewarded. All classes were very easily cashed with best end continentals in very high demand.”
