Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, stars of the beloved American TV show The Vampire Diaries will head to the West Midlands for Monopoly Event’s first Comic Com: Midlands event in Birmingham.
Known for playing two of the series’ leading characters, brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore, Ian and Paul will be at the NEC on July 12 and 13, 2025 for exclusive photo opportunities, autograph signings and live Q&A sessions.
Damon, played by Ian, and Stefan, played by Paul, spend the seventh series of The Vampire Diaries navigating their love triangle with the show’s focal character, Elena Gilbert as well as navigating their own brotherly relationship since being turned into vampires in the 1800s.
Monopoly Events has promised its first trip to Birmingham will be an “unforgettable weekend of pop culture, TV, gaming, anime, and more.”
Andy Kleek, CEO of Comic Con Midlands, said: “We couldn’t be more excited to bring Comic Con Midlands to the NEC Birmingham, a venue that perfectly reflects the scales and ambitions of the show.”
“From celebrity guests to incredible attractions, this will be an event that sets a new standard for fans in the Midlands and beyond.”
Highlights of the event will include more celebrity appearances yet to be announced, a range of live stage panels, cosplay competitions, gaming areas and an opportunity to immerse yourself in interactive stage build and props with set recreations from popular franchises.
There will also be a trader and artist area, where guests can purchase unique gifts, collectables, artwork and memorabilia.
As well as Comic Con: Midlands in Birmingham, Monopoly Events announced they will be running a second Midlands event in Telford in September, although details about the stars appearing there are yet to be announced.
