Two months of night time closures planned for A16 Pinchbeck roundabout near Spalding

Two months of night-time road closures will be in place as work continues on an A16 roundabout.

Lincolnshire County Council have announced the closures as part of the ongoing Pinchbeck Roundabout improvement works near Spalding.

Karen Cassar, assistant director – highways, said: “We’re nearly ready to start resurfacing the roundabout circulatory itself and A16 legs of Pinchbeck Roundabout, including a total three quarters of a mile of the A16 south of the project.

“This means we’re not far away from completing this massive infrastructure project.

“However, to ensure our construction crews can carry this work out safely and efficiently, we need to close off the sections of roundabout overnight where they’ll be working.

“This will no doubt cause some disruption to those travelling between 8pm and 6am, but the closure is an essential part of this phase of the project.”

The closures will take place from Monday, January 20, for up to two months, subject to weather conditions.

Closures will be from 8pm to 6am and be weekday evenings only.

Diversion routes will be the A16 North – via A151 / A17, and vice versa and the A16 South – via A16 / A152 / B1356, and vice versa.

The roundabout is undergoing widening works as part of a £20 million Levelling Up scheme for the A16.
