Two cars stolen in two days by thieves in Warndon

Two cars have been stolen in the last two nights from the area, with only one recovered so far.

Police believe that opportunistic offenders are searching for unlocked vehicles, as no damage has been reported during thefts

PC Ben Sly, of Warndon Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Most of the footage we are receiving from residents in the area is of a male trying car doors and when they found are found to be locked, they immediately leave.

“To dispel any undue worry, this is believed to be the work of an opportunist, not an organised spate of crime.

“We do not want to cause alarm and worry, just to promote vigilance and ask for your help to catch the culprits.

“Please report to 101 or on our online ‘Tell us About form on our website and quote incident reference PSP/C/00001/25.”

Officers are asking for any reports or CCTV footage of suspicious activity from the Warndon area between 1am and 6am from the previous two nights to help with an investigation.

West Mercia Police have also suggested simple but effective ways to protect homes and vehicles including removing all valuable items before leaving it unattended, ensuring the vehicle is locked when being left unattended and making sure keys are not left inside the vehicle.

PC Sly added: “Thank you for your help and thank you for those who have already reported circumstances and sent us doorbell and CCTV footage.

“It is only by the police and the public working together that we can prevent and detect crime.”
