TV time for towns

LAST year a TV crew from popular show The Repair Shop visited Tundergarth Kirk to film an episode.

And it’s finally due to be broadcast next week, on Monday night at 8 pm on BBC Scotland.

Lori Mossop, from Tundergarth Kirks Trust, gave a hint at what viewers can expect, saying: “It’s a special something of local interest that they helped to restore.”

And she added: “We were so honoured to be asked to feature in this heartwarming show, which attracts millions of viewers every week! “The team were really impressed by the restoration of our 1900 church, and our work to ensure the victims of December 21st 1988 are never forgotten.”

Meanwhile, Lochmaben and its illustrious past will also be the star of a TV show later this month.

It will feature in ITV Border’s Royal Burgh series, hosted by Fiona Armstrong. She was taken on a tour of the town by local historian Isabelle Gow. Stops included the town hall and heritage centre.

The programme will on air January 24 at 7 pm.
