The best-performing primary schools in Northumberland have been revealed, according to the latest statistics.
Children are assessed at the end of year 6 as they leave primary school.
The latest performance figures from Gov.uk show that 61 per cent of children across England reached the expected standard across reading, writing and maths when assessed at the end of the 2023-24 academic year.
In Northumberland, this was 56 per cent.
But which schools in Northumberland performed the best? We rank the top 10 below.
1. Eastlea Primary School, Cramlington
In first place is Eastlea Primary School.
Some 82 per cent of pupils at the school met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths.
2. Bede Academy, Blyth, and Belsay Primary School
Coming in joint-second place are Bede Academy, and Belsay Primary School – they had a score of 81 per cent.
4. St Aidan’s Catholic Primary School, Ashington, and Shilbottle Primary School
Just missing out on the top three are St Aidan’s Catholic Primary School, Ashington, and Shilbottle Primary School.
At these schools, 80 per cent of pupils met the required standard in these three subjects.
6. Burnside Primary School, Cramlington
In sixth place, is Burnside Primary School.
The expected standard was met by 78 per cent of pupils here.
7. Ringway Primary School, Stakeford, and St Matthew’s Catholic Primary School, Prudhoe
Just behind are Ringway Primary School, and St Matthew’s Catholic Primary School, Prudhoe, where 77 per cent of pupils met the required standard by the end of year 6.
9. Ellington Primary School
In ninth place is Ellington Primary School.
At this school, 76 per cent of pupils met the required standard.
10. Swarland Primary School
And rounding out the top 10 is Swarland Primary School.
Some 75 per cent of pupils met the required standard in reading, writing and maths here.
