Tom Stoltman reveals secret to winning World’s Strongest Man

ONE of the Highlands’ most famous sons has revealed how he became the world’s strongest man for the third time – and promised that he’s “going to shock a few people” in 2025.

Tom Stoltman’s latest victory in World’s Strongest Man has been known to fans for months since he reclaimed the title back in May of last year.

But with the event being televised to a global audience over the festive period, interest in the strongman event has again peaked.

And Stoltman has taken to his YouTube channel to share some of the secrets of his success with his hundreds of thousands of followers – and warn his “haters” that there’s lots more to come in 2025.

In the video titled How I won the World’s Strongest Man 2024, he admits to being “very, very hungry” having lost the title in 2023 to Canadian Mitchell Hooper.

He said: “I wasn’t letting that happen again.”

Revealing three “massive” recovery tools added to his training regime, he also hailed the vital importance of teamwork to his success.

Making use of an oxygen chamber, an osteopath and talking to a sports psychologist were “the massive things I added”, he said.

He said he also started running a lot, adding: “It was more about being fit and agile as about being a mass monster and not having a good cardiovascular system”.

He said he had the mindset when he stepped on the plane to travel to the event at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina that he was going to become the world’s strongest man.

He also spoke of “going into the zone” as the final reached its dramatic climax with the top ten battling it out for supremacy. He said: “I wasn’t letting anybody talk to me. I was in my own zone. I had eyes like I was going to kill someone. I was ready to fight I was ready to do anything to become the world’s strongest man.”

And he said: “There’s a lot of things coming in 2025 that you guys will not expect. I’m going to shock a few people.”

And to all his “haters”, he simply blew a kiss and said: “See you in 2025.”

Hundreds of people had shared their good wishes and congratulations within minutes of the video being posted. One summed up the sentiments of many: “Your training and hard work paid off good style and the team behind you are of great support too. Happy new year lads and thanks for making Scotland very proud.”
