Ellis Dismore would initially contact the young girls in a friendly manner before his demands for sexual images resulted in threats of violence if they were not delivered.
The 24-year-old has been sentenced to 43 years after he was convicted of a catalogue of child sex offences and ultimately an attempted murder.
Teesside Crown Court heard how Dismore’s offending spread over several years and encompassed nine known victims before his fury boiled over in June 2023.

Vile messages left by the would-be murderer have been released by Cleveland Police.
Described as an isolated and lonely person, his offending was traced back to his teenage years when other victims were discovered after he attempted to murder his latest target.
In the days leading up to the attack, Dismore sent several vile and disturbing voice messages to the victim’s mother where he made clear threats to murder and rape the teenager.
Cleveland Police were able to retrace Dismore’s steps as he wandered around a shop looking for knives to buy before heading out of Middlesbrough town centre towards the home of his intended victim.
Dismore was captured on CCTV approaching the teenager before feigning an illness and speaking to her.
The teenager instantly recognised the voice as the man who had been abusing her online and attempted to run to safety.
Harrowing CCTV footage captured Dismore chasing after her and closing in for the kill as he repeatedly stabbed her to the back.
Passing a 43-year sentence, Judge Timothy Stead said there had been a clear escalation in the defendant’s offending which eventually culminated in the murder bid.
“You identified victims who were all female and all within the same age group. They were in some cases 13, 14 and 15, it was girls of that age that you made contact with many, many, many times over,” he said.
“You must have been devoting an enormous amount of time and energy to doing this criminal activity.”

Dismore had used fake online profiles to pose as a teenager and then would incite victims to send him indecent images of themselves, before making threats to share them if they refused his further requests.

The Middlesbrough man had also attempted to meet with them to engage in sexual activity and made threats if they refused.
Judge Stead added: “Your initial communications, which is part of the insidious skill you use, were generally friendly and innocuous.
“As time went on you turned nasty, very nasty indeed. You demanded indecent images of these girls were sent to you and did so repeatedly.
“You asked for sex with them and did all of this employing threats as you went along. You made threats to rape, you made threats to disclose the sexuality of one of them, you made threats to disclose images and indeed there are examples of you doing that.”
