The programme follows Kat Crichton (played by Shetland and His Dark Materials star Sorcha Groundsell), a young Liaison Officer who has been assigned to a brutal slaying on Lewis and Harris, islands she fled from ten years ago.

When will An t-Eilean (The Island) air on the BBC?
An t-Eilean (The Island) will air on Scotland’s Gaelic language channel BBC Alba as well as BBC Four on Tuesday, January 14 from 9pm.
The four 50-minute-long episodes will also be available to stream online via BBC iPlayer.
