A village pub and its chef have been nominated for two top industry awards.
The Crown, in Bildeston, and its executive chef Greig Young have been shortlisted for Best Pub and Best Game Chef respectively for the Eat Game Awards 2025.
The venue, which is part of the Nedging Hall Estate, grows much of the produce used for its dishes within its grounds.

Mr Young, of Bury St Edmunds, was appointed at The Crown in October, and the nomination marks a strong start to his tenure.
He said: “Game sits well with us at The Crown with its small environmental footprint and responsible hunting practices.
“Locally sourced game ties the menu to Suffolk’s regional culinary traditions creating a sense of place and belonging whilst also offering an authentic experience.”

He formerly worked at the Northgate in Bury, as well as The Pack Horse in Moulton, and has more than 17 years of experience in the industry.
The Crown under went a refresh earlier this year to give its dining spaces and rooms a new feel.
George Bonwick, general manager at The Crown, said: “Overall, our game menu has gone down incredibly well with guests noting a ‘memorable experience where quality, sustainability and culinary innovation are at the forefront’.”
