The 12 unusual places in Warrington where you could get married

There are 12 hotels, golf clubs and restaurants in the town that are licensed for marriage ceremonies and wedding receptions.

Did you know you can even get married at Gulliver’s World?

All hotels, pubs and bars, and function rooms can host wedding receptions but only 12 are approved venues where legal marriage and civil partnerships can take place, after being granted approval by Warrington Council.

Couples can say “I do” at hotels like Statham Lodge, The Park Royal and The Village and the newly renovated The Parr’s Bank in the town centre.

Restaurants like Spirit and The Waterside Inn feature on the list as do Walton Hall and Winmarleigh House.

There are three sporting venues on the list – Alder Root Golf Club, Birchwood Golf Club and Halliwell Jones Stadium.

The Halliwell Jones Stadium

One of the more unusual venues is Gulliver’s World.

As well as hosting weddings, these establishments can also host naming ceremonies and vow renewals.

Weddings will be led by registrars at civil ceremonies and aren’t religious – if you would like to have a religious service, this will need to take place in a church or place of worship and be conducted by a religious official.
