Twenty-three guests, including a four-year-old child and six staff members, were snowed in at the Tan Hill Inn, near Richmond in North Yorkshire on January 5.
Though the group initially “partied the night away”, they are hoping that council snow ploughs will be able to get through the drifts and get everyone back to their families.
Still, led by manager Nicole Hayes, they are keeping spirits high, playing Monopoly, and are back to drinking wine and eating sausages after Aldi delivered emergency supplies
Though snow ploughs have escorted many of the guests to safety now, ten people still remain stranded, including two travellers from Germany.
(Image: Tan Hill Inn) Eva and Matthias from Bavaria tried to drive out along the ploughed road tonight but failed and are back at the pub, “safe and sound.”
Taking to social media to update customers on the lock-in, pub staff said: “We were preparing ourselves for an evening without Malbec and breakfast without sausages when we had a surprise visit from a snowplough in shining armour!
“Supermarket chain Aldi UK had heard of our red wine and banger shortage and hired a local contractor with a tractor to bring us supplies.

“The mercy mission was driven by Harry, a farmer from Leyburn in Wensleydale, who said it was “touch and go” but smashed his way through the last miles to us.”
All of those locked in are excited to be back with families soon – as barmaid Kelly missed her daughter’s 18th birthday yesterday and today housekeeper Babs was told she had a new grandchild, baby Amelia, weighing 6lb 9oz.
The Tan Hill Inn hopes that they will be rescued today (Thursday, January 9). They are planning on changing staff, so normal service and operation will resume as soon as possible on Thursday or Friday.
