Services running through Basingstoke are expected to be delayed until the early afternoon as signalling issues have meant that country bound railway lines are blocked.
Trains heading to Winchester and Salisbury are affected, disruption is expected until 2pm.
Other train services are able to run normally but may have to use different platforms to normal.
SWR shared the following statement: “Due to an operational incident at Basingstoke some country bound lines are blocked.
“What’s Going On: Train services running through this station may be delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 14:00 08/01.
“What We’re Doing About It: We have been informed of a signalling problem at Basingstoke.
“This means that some lines towards Winchester and Salisbury are currently blocked.
“Whilst we investigate this, train services are able to run normally but may have to use different platforms to normal.
“For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.
“We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.
“Further Information: If you would prefer to use local buses to continue your journey please check Traveline.
“South Western Railway tickets are not valid on local buses unless stated above.
