Tadley Health and Fitness Centre had closed its swimming pool for nearly two months as it carried out major works to the pool’s moveable floor and various other areas of the facility.
As part of the grand reopening celebration, the centre is offering free pool access to new customers who join now, with absolutely no payments until February 1.
The swimming pool at the multi-purpose health and fitness centre had been closed since November 4.

While the pool was closed, the centre team carried out a range of upgrade work, including repairs to poolside tiling, regrouting in the showers, and installation of new lighting around the swimming pool and in the communal shower areas.
The pool has also benefitted from a thorough deep clean.
Luke Charlton, contract manager for Basingstoke and Deane Community Leisure Trust (BDCLT), which manages the facility, said: “As of December 21, we’ll have the pool fully open, welcoming swimmers, learners and customers who attend our popular pool-based workout classes.
“I would like to thank Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, who funded the upgrade work. Their continued investment into the wellbeing needs of the local community is commendable.
“To celebrate the reopening, we’re offering new customers the chance to join now and pay nothing till February 1.”

Cabinet member for sport, leisure and culture Cllr Kerry Morrow said: “I am delighted that the essential work to upgrade the moveable floor in the swimming pool at Tadley Health and Fitness Centre has been completed ahead of schedule. We know what a valuable facility this is to the people of Tadley and the surrounding areas, which is why this investment to ensure the smooth running of the swimming pool for years to come was so important.
“There was never going to be a good time to close the pool for a number of weeks, but we have worked hard with Basingstoke and Deane Community Leisure Trust and the specialist contractor to minimise the disruption to users. I would like to thank members and users for their patience during the closure and hope they will be pleased to get back into the pool earlier than anticipated.”
