A SWASHBUCKLING adventure set in and around the royal court of France comes to the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Torquay later this month.
Adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas, The South Devon Players’ production of The Three Musketeers will play at the venue on January 17.
Set in the 1620s, young swordsman d’Artagnan travels to Paris, seeking to join the Royal guards;. Initially refused, but determined to prove his worth and loyalty, he leads in thwarting plots against the King and Queen, by the King’s advisor; Cardinal Richelieu, while making friends with three of the Kings Musketeers, in the process.
With beautiful costuming, dramatic action scenes, and a fast moving story, performed by a team of professional actors aged from 11 – 65 from around south Devon, and being filmed for TV broadcast in the USA, this is a production not to be missed.

The South Devon Players Theatre and Film Company is a professional, female-led touring theatre company based in Brixham in South Devon. Founded by Laura Jury in 2005, and has gone on to win several regional, national and international arts awards.
