Stockton indie festival, Gathering Sounds, to return in 2025

The Gathering Sounds Festival, which takes place in Stockton, has said they will return this year, bringing indie musicians and emerging UK talent to the town.

Set to take place on Saturday, September 27 across multiple venues in Stockton, organisers of the one-day festival are hoping that it will transform the town into a vibrant hub for the best in new music.

Tickets are already for sale, with early bird passes available now for just £17 (plus fees) via Fatsoma here.

The Gathering Sounds Festival is not only a hit for music lovers but also a vital contributor to the local economy.

The 2024 edition generated over £100,000 for North East businesses including those involved in security, lighting, production, transport, food, drink, accommodation, and hospitality.

The festival’s indie music magic comes to life across Stockton’s iconic venues, including the Georgian Theatre, ARC, and KU Bar and the festival has been a launchpad for some of the UK’s most exciting up-and-coming acts.

Fat Dog, The Royston Club, SNAYX, and Wings of Desire headlined in 2024, alongside standout performances from About Bunny, Komparrison, and The Crooks.

Jimmy Beck, the festival’s organiser, said: “The response to this year’s festival was phenomenal. The Gathering Sounds has truly become a cornerstone event for Stockton and the wider North East, showcasing not only incredible musical talent but also the spirit of our local community.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the amazing venues in Stockton and the national promoters we collaborate with, who work tirelessly to provide an outstanding platform for new and emerging talent.

“Together, we’re creating a proper music industry event that highlights the best the North East has to offer. 2025 is shaping up to be our biggest and best yet, and we can’t wait to see everyone there.”

Building on the momentum of its sold-out 2024 edition, TGS 2025 promises an expanded lineup and even more incredible live performances. With each stage curated by leading UK indie promoters, festival-goers can expect an eclectic mix of indie rock, dance-punk, and experimental sounds that push the boundaries of contemporary music.
