Stansted Airport announces new destinations for Essex fliers

The new destinations include places in France, the Netherlands, Turkey, Greece, and Germany.

The aim is to cater to all types of travellers, whether they are interested in history, nature, or off-the-beaten-path adventures.

British Airways (BA), which returned to the airport last year with flights to Nice, Ibiza, and Florence, will introduce a new service to Bergerac, France, in June.

This southwest French city is known for its vineyards and beautiful countryside.

Transavia, a new airline for London Stansted, will make its debut with a route to Rotterdam, Netherlands, in April.

This southern city is celebrated for its innovative architecture and vibrant cultural scene.

Turkish carrier SunExpress, following its successful new services last summer, will introduce a route to Kayseri, Turkey, in July.

Kayseri is known as the gateway to the stunning Cappadocia region, with its ancient architecture and bustling bazaars.

Jet2, London Stansted’s second-largest carrier, will launch flights to Pula, Croatia, and Bergen, Norway, in May.

The airline will also offer holiday packages to the Greek islands of Poros, Aegina, and Leros, accessible via Athens.

Ryanair, London Stansted’s largest airline with more than 150 destinations, is resuming flights to Lübeck, Germany, starting in summer 2025.

This northern port city is famous for its well-preserved medieval architecture and canals.

Ryanair will also launch new routes to Münster, Germany, starting in April, and Clermont-Ferrand, France, starting in March.

The return of Clermont marks the revival of this French destination at Stansted, last served in 2019.

London Stansted’s aviation director, Simon Gorrighan, said: “We are really excited about these new routes – they are all about giving our passengers even more choice for their travels.

“Whether it is unwinding in the vineyards of Bergerac, soaking up the buzz of Rotterdam’s cultural scene, or exploring the stunning landscapes of Cappadocia, there is truly something for everyone.”

“London Stansted serves more European destinations than any other UK airport, and these new services will further strengthen our route network, which now covers almost 200 destinations across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.”
