Specsavers set to relocate to The Harvey Centre

AN opticians in Harlow is set to relocate down the street to a new premises following the £700,000 makeover of a site in the town centre.

On Thursday 9 January, the team of opticians at Specsavers will open the doors to their new home, where they will continue to cater to all the eye and hearing care needs of the Harlow community.

An official grand opening event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 22 January with the three store directors – Sarah Flowers, Neha Patel and Faye Hall – set to cut the ribbon while alongside the Specsavers store team.

Moving to 58-60 The Harvey Centre, the new store will have 10 optical consulting rooms, three hearcare soundproof rooms, and two hospital-grade Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) machines, fitted spaciously in their new 9,000-square-feet store.

Specsavers Harlow has been part of the community for  32 years, with ophthalmic director Sarah Flowers having started her carerer at the store and eventually working her way up to owning it with Neha Patel in 2014. The time was now right for the Harlow team to demonstrate their own growth and move to a premises more suitable for the needs of their team and customers.

Sarah Flowers, director at Specsavers Harlow, says: ‘The entire team are extremely excited about our relocation, as we’ve been waiting for the perfect premises to become available and it finally did. We’re delighted that we are now going to have all our facilities and testing rooms located on one floor, making them much more accessible and it will allow us to provide care and support to more people in the community.

‘We love taking care of the residents of Harlow, but we wanted to do more and with the space in our old store, that simply wasn’t possible. With this new store, we can do so much more and see many more customers each week.

‘As we edge closer to opening day, we are working hard preparing the store for the community, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.’

Specsavers Harlow will be closing the doors to their old store on Sunday 5 January and will reopen in The Harvey Centre on Thursday 9 January.

The grand opening event is taking place on Wednesday 22 January, with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, balloons and cupcakes from a local supplier. For more information or to book an appointment, call Specsavers Harlow on 01279 410888 or visit: www.specsavers.co.uk/stores/harlow
