An independent business owner is on a mission to encourage others to ‘embrace their own unique individuality’ – after celebrating her most recent achievement.
Becky Parson, of Spalding, founded her business, Daisy Amour, three years ago and is looking forward to the future, following her latest win.
The business, which sells one-of-a-kind handbags, purses and accessories out of unique fabrics, secured second place at the Female Business Award Gala celebration evening, in Manchester.

With more than 600 other traders attending, Becky was over the moon with her result. She said: “Being a runner up means the absolute world to me and I am so excited for next year.
“I am on a mission to empower people to be brave and embrace their own unique individuality and encourage people to live unapologetically as themselves without judgment.
“I want to change the narrative of what society states we should be wearing or what box we must fit in to be recognised in society – after spending most of my life feeling like I didn’t fit in.”
The competition featured 15 categories, which businesses from across the UK competed in. Becky was runner up for the ‘sustainability and planet friendly’ category.
Becky added: “To be able to attend an award ceremony like this one is a dream come true and to come home a runner up is just the icing on the cake. The atmosphere in the room was electric and you could just feel the support in the room from everyone who was there.”
Janine Friston, who runs an online and in-person networking group for her business, co-hosted the event, she said: “Our vision with the Female Business Awards is to recognise and celebrate those female-led small businesses who are often forgotten about in other awards.
“Female business owners often set up and run their businesses around other responsibilities, such as younger children, and so desire and need the flexibility that running their own business can provide. Being able to showcase some of these amazing business owners is fantastic.”
Becky is looking to use this recognition as a springboard for her business, and hopes to reach new audiences as a result.
