With a remarkable total of 4,391 toys donated, the campaign ensured each gift was beautifully wrapped using an impressive 628 meters of wrapping paper, with some parcels including multiple presents.
Contributions came from kind-hearted individuals as well as local organisations such as Corin Underwriters, Edward Leonard Conroy Ltd, Newlyn Plc, Marston Plc, Olympus staff, Thorpe Hall School, and Wayland Games.
This highlighted the community’s commitment to spreading joy during the holiday season.
The council also thanked Argosy Toys, Toys ‘n’ Tuck, The Forum and Sale Appliance, who all played a significant role in collecting and delivering the toys.

Laurie Burton, councillor responsible for children and learning, expressed his gratitude, and said: “I am astounded by the generosity of our residents, schools, and businesses, and the kindness of council staff for organising this toy drive, the donations, collections, wrapping, and deliveries, on top of their day jobs.
“Plus, our amazing local businesses, including Argosy Toys and Toys ‘n’ Tuck who do such a fantastic job of promoting and supporting the toy drive.
“It really is incredible to think that so many children who might have gone without a Christmas present this year, were treated to a gift and had something to open on Christmas Day.
“This outpouring of giving reflects the true meaning of Christmas; love, community, and generosity.”
The council’s toy drive is an annual initiative to ensure that every child receives a special present in time for the holidays, bringing festive cheer and warmth to local families.
Over the past decade, the Toy Drive has collected an impressive 35,800 donations, bringing joy to 15,275 children and young people in need.
