Daily flights to Newquay in Cornwall will be launched from April 2025 with Eastern Airways, Southend Airport announced on Friday.
Now on sale, fares start from £59.99 one-way and adds the airport’s first domestic service since the Covid pandemic.
Newquay, known as the “surf capital of England”, is renowned for its world-class waves at beaches such as Fistral and Watergate Bay, making it a haven for surfers and beach lovers alike.
Beyond its vibrant surf culture, the destination also offers stunning coastal walks and a lively dining scene.

Revealing the new flights on Friday, Roger Hage, commercial director at Eastern Airways said: “Adding Southend for 2025 as our second London airport connection to Newquay Cornwall follows the success the team in Southend have shown in the increasing strength of the easyJet product.
“This helps open the north and east of the capital – plus Essex and Suffolk especially – to a daily service to the south-west of England, complementing our London Gatwick twice-daily offer.
“The speed of access to Greater London via the adjacent rail link offers an appealing option, helping to avoid the otherwise arduous alternative travel options.”
The award-winning airport previously operated flights to Newquay between April 2019 and January 2020.
It comes as the airport counts down to the return of an easyJet base this summer, with three-aircraft set to be based at Southend from March.
Passengers can book holidays across Europe and North Africa with flights to Pisa, Marrakech, Malta, Reus and Almeria in Spain, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Alicante, Palma de Mallorca, Malaga, Amsterdam, Paris, Antalya and Dalaman in Turkey and Enfidha in Tunisia.
Tour operator Balkan Holidays will operate a series of summer package holidays to the Black Sea coastline in Bulgaria.
