South Holland police seize alcohol and report ‘serial perpetrators’ while patrolling Spalding town centre

Police have reported ‘serial perpetrators’ and seized alcohol while patrolling the town centre.

South Holland offices have been patrolling in Spalding today (Thursday, January 2) to enforce the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO).

The order, which covers the town centre, is not a drinking ban, it does set out that an offence is committed if a drinker does not comply with an officer’s request to stop. Enforcement action for this order is taken by South Holland District Council.

Concerns have been raised in recent months about street drinking and other anti-social behaviour issues in the town centre.

A force facebook post states: “PCSO Holland and Sgt Corder have been on patrol in Spalding today. They have been enforcing the PSPO whilst on foot patrol and obtained a number of alcohol vessels.

“Serial perpetrator details have been passed to South Holland District Council. This is just one of our partnerships with a number of different agencies.

“Whilst patrolling other areas they conducted static speed checks on Low Road, Spalding. Speeding offences have been dealt with by means of traffic offence reports.

“Meanwhile in Holbeach/The Suttons PC Pullen has been conducting safeguarding visits, we are dedicated to protecting vulnerable people. We will continue to work towards the South Holland Policing Plan.”
