The site of a town’s former library will become 20 homes after plans were approved by a council.
West Suffolk Council green lit the proposals from Suffolk Property Developments Ltd for the land in Bury Road, Brandon, on Thursday.
The 0.67 hectare plot, which the local plan said has capacity for 23 properties, will become eight houses and 12 apartments.

It was formerly Brandon Library and Community Centre.
These would take the form of a row of six terraced houses, a pair of semi-detached houses and a three-storey apartment block.
The apartments would all be one-bedroom, while the houses would be a mix of two and three-bedroom.
It is proposed they would all be affordable housing.
The development will also include associated parking and landscaping.
The site is around 25 metres from Brandon town centre.
A similar application for seven houses and 20 flats was rejected in 2021.
Brandon Town Council said it would support the application if the entrance point to the development, from Bury Road, was widened.
Members of the public also expressed concerns about the width of the entrance and exit point, while others were concerned with potential noise impacts on amenity.
The plans said this entrance/exit point would be widened to 4.8 metres, which Suffolk Highways said it was content with.
The application was considered over the course of nearly two and a half years.
The applicants bought the site in December 2017 from the former Forest Heath District Council.
The original buildings were demolished.
