This comes as the Met Office predicts temperatures in the Midlands could plummet as low as -6C this week, with yellow weather warnings in place for the East and West Midlands.
Certain areas of the UK could see temperatures drop as low as -15C on Thursday (January 9).
The company is urging its customers to prepare for the freezing conditions.
They recommend customers ‘get winter ready’ by lagging their pipes and familiarising themselves with the location of their stop taps.
Kelsey Martin, water efficiency manager at the water company, said: “Freezing conditions followed by warmer weather can cause bursts.
“In cold weather, the water in your pipes can freeze and expand.
“It blocks them and can cause bursts including when they unfreeze in warmer conditions, causing damage to your home.
“But you can get prepared by spending a few minutes now going around your home and wrap up any pipes to protect them from the cold.”
To assist customers in preparing for the freezing conditions, the company has provided a list of tips.
These include wrapping all pipework, fittings, and storage tanks in unheated areas of the home with insulation, insulating or draining outside taps, and seeking professional help from a registered plumber if required.
The water company also recommends that customers who experience issues with their water supply, such as low pressure or no water from their taps, should first check if their neighbours are experiencing similar problems.
If the issue is isolated to their household, they are advised to call a plumber.
However, if more than one household is affected, they should report the problem via Severn Trent’s 24-hour emergency number.
