Salisbury Journal Camera Club best photographs in 2024

From stunning shots of the cathedral to beautiful scenes in the New Forest, the camera club members have delivered this year. 

Hundreds, maybe even thousands, of photos have been shared by the camera club members. Images are submitted to fulfil a theme, or they are just photographs the members are proud of. 

Over the past year, we’ve had themes such as ‘reflection’ ‘memories’ and ‘Old vs New’.

A horse cools off in the New Forest (Image: Hang Ross) We’ve looked back at the photos submitted in 2024 to pick the final 12 best images – one from each month. 

In January, James Terry shared a fantastic photo of people celebrating the start of the new year at Chapel – you can feel the atmosphere in the image. 

Love was in the air in February, and Claire Sheppard proved it’s easy to fall in love with the New Forest with her shot of the trees. 

A beautiful sign of spring in March was shared by Tracey Crowley and in April, Noorie Parvez shared a colourful postbox topper photograph.

In May, Luke Wilson’s upsidedown reflection of his dog was very adorable and was followed by Annette Gregory capturing a bee hard at work in June.

The sun sets in Salisbury (Image: Amanda Jane Norfolk) The weather continued to warm up, and in July Hang Ross photographed a horse cooling off in the New Forest. 

In August, Carol Byrne captured the William Pye Font reflected in Salisbury Cathedral.

Terry Waldron shared a photo of the Steam Loco “Mayflower” crossing paths with a service train in September for ‘Old vs New’.

A horror starling in black and white was shared in October by Jacky Chambers and the November ‘memories’, Henk Leerink shared a ‘road to nowhere’ photograph.

To end the year,Amanda Jane Norfolk shared a stunning photo of the sun setting in Market Place.
