Blue Monday, which is January 20, is said to be the most depressing day of the year.
But Samaritans is saying out with the blue and in with a brew to encourage people to make time for a cuppa and a catch-up.
Rhode Island Coffee, which is based at Golden Square, is taking part in the initiative.
On the day, the café will be offering a range of tea flavours for just £2.50 all day.
Customers will also have the option to donate to Samaritans.
Ravi Ruia, managing director of Rhode Island Coffee, said: “At Rhode Island Coffee, we feel a deep sense of responsibility to support our customers in any way we can.
“Loneliness is an increasing challenge in today’s society, and we’re proud to serve as a community hub where people can come together, socialise, and find connection.
“The Samaritans charity holds a special place in our hearts, as many of our customers visit us to make new friends, chat, and enjoy a welcoming space outside of their homes.
“We understand that it’s not always easy to open up, but we’re here to be a comforting presence for our local communities. Sometimes, a simple chat over a brew can make a world of difference.
“‘Brew Monday’ perfectly aligns with what we’re all about—bringing people together over a cup of tea.”
