Bosses at a bar chain said to be “better than Wetherspoon” will soon cut the ribbon at the grand opening of their latest Kent venture.
The Calvero Lounge, located on the ground floor of the Embassy Building in Tenterden High Street, will swing open its doors next Wednesday, January 22.
Calvero Lounge will open in Tenterden High Street next weekThe Embassy building in Tenterden will be shared between Rockits Sensory and Calvero Lounge
It is the latest endeavour from the West Country-based Loungers group, which has recently opened sites in Faversham, Deal, Westwood Cross and Sittingbourne.
The firm also owns the Cosy Club brand, which has an outlet in Canterbury.
Tenterden’s Calvaro Lounge will follow in the footsteps of its other eateries, offering an extensive menu and opening daily for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and drinks.
Loungers spokesman John English said: “We are delighted to be opening Calvero Lounge in Tenterden next week.
“Our Lounges strive to put the community at the heart of hospitality, and our teams always go the extra mile to make a difference.

“They are actively encouraged to connect with their communities by working with local groups, charities, organisations and businesses that are at the heart of the fabric of local life.
“We are very much looking forward to welcoming local residents to Calvero Lounge.”
The site will fill the gap left by M&Co, which closed in 2022 after the firm plunged into administration, creating 30 new jobs.
The Embassy was built shortly before the Second World War broke out but closed in 1969, leaving the town cinema-less ever since.
Signs first announced the Loungers licensing bid in the building’s window in July. The firm hopes to serve alcohol from 10 a.m. until Midnight daily and late-night refreshments between 11 p.m. and 12.30 a.m.

The application confirmed the building will be shared between Loungers on the ground floor and Rockits Sensory above.
It was previously reported that Rockits needed to raise £20,000 to kit out the larger site, a goal they passed last year by raising more than £25,000.
The sensory room, run by Beth Whatman, previously made the move to the Embassy building from their small site in the town’s high street.
The team at Calvero Loung has partnered with Rockits and will donate 50p from every burger and 20p from every coffee sold in the first month of trading to the company.
Bosses say particular attention will be paid to families and the community, with space for locals to have catch-ups, meetings and events, from business networking to book clubs.
They added that the site has been transformed with several additions creating a variety of cosy and elegant drinking and dining areas to choose from.
Loungers, which describes its venues as “informal café bars”, has more than 200 across the country.
