One of the most exciting emerging voices in contemporary rap is promising an unforgettable night of music in tribute to University of Cambridge graduate Jack Merritt.
Jack, 25, from Cottenham, and fellow Cambridge graduate Saskia Jones, 23, were killed by convicted terrorist Usman Khan at a Learning Together conference near London Bridge on 29 November, 2019.

Former gang member and convict Rosca Onya, who released a tribute single to honour Jack Merritt on the anniversary of his death in 2020, brings his tour to Cambridge next year.
The song Jack garnered widespread media attention and earned Rosca a place as one of the most dynamic figures in today’s emerging rap scene.
Rosca fled conflict in his native Democratic Republic of Congo as a child, before losing his parents at a young age and travelling through three different countries before arriving in England at the age of nine.
He joined a local gang, became involved in crime and at the age of 18 was convicted for possession of a loaded gun. He was given an indeterminate sentence for public protection and served nine years.
It was through the Learning Together scheme that Rosca and Jack, a former student at Hills Road Sixth Form College, became friends.
In an interview with Sky News, Rosca shared how Jack helped him prepare for his parole hearings and then helped him develop his music career when he was released from prison in 2018.
“Jack was someone special and he’s always going to be close to my heart,” he told the BBC.
Rosca will bring his first tour to Cambridge Junction on 10 February, with proceeds from the concert going to the two charities Rosca and Jack supported at the time of Jack’s death: Just for Kids Law and the British Red Cross.
Songwriter Rosca has already graced the stage for renowned artists, including Vald and Dadju, at the O2 and has also performed alongside Dave. Making waves in the festival circuit, Rosca recently showcased his talent at Camp Bestival.
“Today, I stand here overflowing with gratitude as I celebrate a remarkable chapter in my life. I’m thrilled to share—I am ready to take the stage for my first-ever headline shows! This moment isn’t just a concert; it’s a celebration of resilience and new beginnings. I’m excited to step into this next chapter of my life and to continue sharing my music with all of you!” he said.
Tickets cost £12.50 and are available from junction.co.uk/events/rosca.
