The Met Office issued a yellow and an amber warning for snow over the weekend for Hexham and the North East region, stating it may cause power cuts for some.
A yellow warning for snow and ice is still in place for Hexham until this afternoon.
Northern Powergrid’s power cuts map shows multiple incidents across the Tynedale area.
The map currently shows 165 incidents, ranging from Hexham to Stocksfield and the North Pennines National Landscape.
“The heavy rain and surface water from yesterday’s snow has, and continues to, impact parts of our network,” Northern Powergrid said.
“We are working hard to restore power to all customers impacted and always aim to give our best view on estimated timings.
“Our team are responding as soon as it is safe to do so. Once our team have assessed the extent of the work required, we’ll be able to provide more certainty when power can be restored.
“We are updating the power cut map regularly, with more accurate estimated times as soon as they are able.
“The map gives the same information that is available to our contact centre advisors.
“Supporting customers is our priority – please report your power cut online so we can keep you updated.
“For customers who are part of our Priority Services Membership we’ll contact you to discuss any additional help we may be able to provide.
“If you are in a dangerous situation, there is risk to life, or you are medically dependent on electricity please call us on 105.
“If you have a medical emergency, please call 999 immediately.”
The map shows unplanned power cuts on the outskirts of Hexham, including at Yarridge Road.
Properties in the North Pennines are affected, including Whitley Chapel, Studdon, Sinderhope, Spartylea and near Ropehaugh.
