Following an autumn season in cinemas across the UK and Ireland, The World’s Greatest Stage Musicals is back this spring to entertain theatre lovers.
The series will be shown in more than 500 cinemas nationwide, including Vue Worcester, and will feature five acclaimed productions, all screened in HD with enhanced sound.
The spring season kicks off with Les Misérables: The Staged Concert (2019) on Sunday, February 2 and Tuesday, February 4.
Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the beloved musical, the concert version features stars like Michael Ball, Alfie Boe, and Carrie Hope Fletcher, and includes popular songs such as I Dreamed A Dream and Bring Him Home.
Next up is Jesus Christ Superstar: Live Arena Tour (2012) on Sunday, March 2 and Tuesday, March 4.
The rock classic features an impressive cast, including Tim Minchin as Judas Iscariot and Mel C from the Spice Girls as Mary Magdalene.
The following month will see A Night With Janis Joplin: The Musical (2024) on screen on Thursday, March 13 and Sunday, March 16.
This show pays tribute to Joplin and her musical influences, featuring songs like Piece of My Heart and Mercedes Benz.
Billy Elliot: The Musical Live (2014) will be screened on Sunday, March 30 and Wednesday, April 2.
The tale follows the journey of a boy who discovers his passion for dance, set against the backdrop of the 1984/85 miners’ strike.
Finally, Bonnie & Clyde: The Musical (2022) will close the season on Thursday, May 1 and Sunday, May 4.
This award-winning production tells the remarkable true story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, featuring Tony-nominee Jeremy Jordan and Olivier-nominee Frances Mayli McCann.
