Plans to build Sleek and modern eco home in Basingstoke

Plans to build a “sleek and modern” eco home in Basingstoke were submitted to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council (BDBC) on January 3.

The proposal is to create a compact, contemporary home which is designed to “integrate seamlessly” with its surroundings while “minimising environmental impact.”

A planning statement prepared by Fingerprint Studios Ltd on behalf of applicant Marcin Doniesiewicz says the home, at 34 Manor Road, Sherborne St John, aims to be sustainable, incorporating solar panels, air source heat pumps and permeable landscaping “to enhance energy efficiency and biodiversity.”

If approved, the eco home would feature four bedrooms, a basement floor, sunken courtyard, soft and hard landscaping and a roof terrace.

The application described it as having a “sleek and modern aesthetic” that “compliments” the client’s existing home and “harmonises with the rural character” of the area.

The proposals retain existing hedgerows and introduce wildflower planting to “support local wildlife.”
