Plans for new staycation in Elmley Castle submitted

Glampitect has submitted plans on behalf of Topiary FHL for four new shepherd huts within the small village of Elmley Castle.

Developers hope to install associated decking, footpaths, secure bicycle storage and recycling or refuse storage places for its visitors.

The plans suggest a place for tourists to stay overnight in a “subtle and discreet countryside holiday accommodation” for short breaks.

Rendered images show how each hut would be sprayed on a permeable gravel platform, and foliage would decorate a pathway with wooden trimmings leading to each fixed home.

The middle of each hut has two double doors which lead inside and multiple side windows.

A black fixed light also hangs outside the front.

The planning application outlines that each shepherd hut will be constructed off-site and transported to the Elm Cottage field on Hill Lane.

“Existing features will be utilised where possible, for example, the existing entrance, access track, and parking area.

“All huts will be connected to a new private package treatment plant and will incorporate SuDS throughout the site.

“Each hut will be sited on a permeable gravel platform to allow roof run-off to easily infiltrate the ground.

“The site location will be easily accessible from across the country via both car and public transport.”

The plans also suggest there will also be E.V charging points on site.
