Permission is being sought to make alterations to 8 Alloway Place, a B listed three storey terraced house constructed in the early 19th century.
ADL Architecture has submitted an application to South Ayrshire Council on behalf of the applicants for the works.
These would include new windows, garage re-roofing, and the painting of the front façade of the property.
The application states: “The property has been partly upgraded by the previous owners and the new owners now wish to carry out further upgrading and alterations.
“The proposal comprises the upgrading to current building standards of the outhouse to provide a utility facility with access to the rear garden, a shower room, store and the reinstatement of the former garage which is currently used as a store.
“The re-roofing of the outhouse with natural slates and the re-roofing of the store with a single ply roofing membrane.
“The former owner had replaced a number of windows throughout the property and this proposal includes the replacement of the remaining windows with sash and case timber windows double glazed.
“New railings are proposed to the front garden area facing Alloway Place together with the re-painting of the front façade again facing Alloway Place.
“We are of the opinion that all of the above will not only improve and upgrade the property to meet modern standards and living accommodation, but will also enhance the Ayr Central Conservation Area.”
The full proposal can be found on South Ayrshire Council’s planning portal with reference 24/00882/LBC.
