Fishing is at the heart of what Partridge Lakes in Culcheth does.
But due to the thick ice covering its waters, owners have had no choice but to temporarily close the venue’s fishing operations.
This has been described as a difficult decision for the team, but they said it cannot be broken safely for anglers.
However, there is a silver lining – the closure has created a ‘rare and exciting’ opportunity for the community.

With 15 stunning waters surrounded by peaceful scenery, it is the perfect chance to explore the outdoors, enjoy a tranquil walk, and take in the natural beauty that’s usually reserved for anglers.
The site’s café will be open from 8am to 4pm, serving food and drinks in a cosy setting.
Dogs are also welcome too.
“While pausing fishing is a challenge, we’re delighted to be able to invite the community to enjoy Partridge Lakes in a new and unique way,” the team said.
“We hope to see plenty of people making the most of this special weekend!”
