Oxford Street Kidderminster car collides with building

West Mercia Police and crews from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene of a collision involving a Mini yesterday (Friday, January 17). 

Hereford and Worcester Fire Control said they were called at around 5.11pm by police to reports of a car going into a building on Oxford Street. 

Officers remained at the scene (Image: NQ/Lauren Chaloner) Crews from Wyre Forest and Droitwich Fire Stations were sent to the scene where they found an RTC involving two cars. 

One had collided with a shop front. 

The fire service has confirmed that nobody needed rescuing but officers remained at the scene to ensure the safety of the building. 

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire Control said: “We were called at around 5.11pm today (Friday, January 17) by police to reports of a car going into a building. 

“Crews from Wyre Forest and Droitwich Fire Stations were sent to the scene.

“On arrival, crews found an RTC involving two cars with one having gone into a shop front.”

Tape remained across the shop near Dixons Estate Agents with residents urging people to avoid the area whilst emergency services dealt with the collision. 

The fire service left the scene at 5.55pm. 

West Mercia Police have been contacted for a comment.
