The North East Freelance Network (NEFN) is a community-driven platform designed to address the lack of ongoing support for self-employed professionals in the region.
Jade Gillham, founder, said: “Freelancers deserve the same level of support and resources that traditional businesses receive.
“Many freelancers aren’t looking to create an agency or hire employees, they’re looking to refine their skills, connect with like-minded professionals, and build a sustainable business on their own terms.
“The North East Freelance Network gives them the space and support to do just that.”
The NEFN membership, at £12.99 a month, aims to provide freelancers with tools, community, and support.
Membership benefits include in-person coworking and networking events, workshops, a private online discussion forum, and monthly events.
Ms Gillham added: “Unlike many traditional business support programs that prioritise growth through team expansion, the North East Freelance Network recognises that not all freelancers want to scale in the traditional sense.”
Rita Callender, business adviser at the North East BIC, said: “This fantastic platform is designed to empower freelancers by offering essential resources, networking opportunities, and a vibrant, collaborative community where everyone can grow and succeed together.”
