North Ayrshire Council’s Energy Smart programme aims to support residents with both financial and practical assistance.
The grant offers payments of up to £500 to residents who are struggling to pay energy bills, are at risk of being cut off, have a gross household income of less than £29,894 and are not in receipt of benefits, due to the availability of the Scottish Welfare Fund.
The grant is available to support utility payments and help lift residents out of fuel debt.
It also supports households in receipt of benefits living in a property with a pre-payment meter.
Residents are asked to contact the council to find out what financial support is available for your household.
You can register by calling the council on 01294 310000 or using your mygov.scot online account.
Energy Smart funding is also available for the installation of a range of energy efficiency measures form insulation to heating controls.
To be eligible, your household’s gross income must be less than £43,662 and proof of income will be required.
You can register your interest for this scheme with the council’s managing agent, M-Four, checking Energy Smart at the council’s website or by calling 0800 471 4738.
