The local authority’s refuse collection team was unable to complete collections in some areas due to icy conditions on Friday, January 3.
Purple bins were missed on routes in the Irvine areas of Bourtreehill South, Cheviot to Heatherstane, Broomlands and Crammond Way to Barra Wynd.
While grey bins were not collected in parts of Kilwinning, namely Northacre, Howden Avenue, Woodwynd, Underwood, Byres Road, Five Roads, Corsehill and Glenbervie.
Rural routes were also incomplete in Kilmaurs, Dalry, Kilwinning, Dalgarven, Kilmarnock and Cunninghamhead.
The council said the team will aim to catch up in these areas on Monday, January 6, weather permitting.
As a result of this, brown bin collection routes on Monday will be postponed in Beith, Dalry, Barmill, Burnouse, Gateside and Dalgarven, to allow outstanding collections to be completed.
A local authority spokesperson said: “Due to icy weather and staff safety issues the following collection areas were not completed today.
“We apologise for any inconvenience.”
