Nicol & Co raises £77,000 for charities across Worcestershire

Nicol & Co, which has offices in Worcester, Droitwich, and Malvern, set up the fund in 2021.

The estate agent donates £100 to the seller’s choice of school, charity, or community organisation for every property it sells.

The scheme raised £12,000 in its first year alone, leading to the establishment of the fund.

Hayley Knight, marketing manager of the estate agent, said: “We are immensely proud of the support we have been able to give to so many Worcestershire organisations since the launch of the Nicol & Co Community Fund.

“Every time we add £100 to the Community Fund, it is our way of thanking our clients for their trust and also putting something significant back into the community where we all work and live.”

Of the £77,000 raised, £22,000 has gone to St Richard’s Hospice, with more than £6,000 donated this year alone.

Ria Simons, corporate fundraising lead at the hospice, said: “We are hugely grateful to Nicol & Co for their generosity, and to the sellers who selected St Richard’s as their charity of choice.

“The money given through the Community Fund helps us continue to provide care for patients with incurable illnesses, their loved ones, and bereaved people in Worcestershire.”

Other beneficiaries of the fund include Acorns Children’s Hospice and The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust.

Ms Knight added: “The fund has also contributed to food banks such as Worcester Food Bank, Droitwich Food Bank, and Malvern Food Bank, and homeless shelters such as Maggs Day Centres, plus animal shelters, The Salvation Army, and Midlands Air Ambulance to name just a few.”

The estate agent’s managing director, Matt Nicol, said: “Our purpose in business is to help people buy and sell homes, but we are rooted in our community, and we will always seek to make a difference wherever we can.

“The Community Fund is just one way in which we work with our clients and the local community to support local organisations that desperately need our help.”
